Will some of the drivers work with Windows 8? Card type is an Intel Atom, processor 1.6 ghz, 60 gb hdd, memory 1 gb (would like to upgrade to a 2 gb if there is a card that is compatible with this model HP Mini Netbook 1000). Currently has XP Home 32 bit and I can't get product key installed because characters rubbed off of Microsoft sticker. I know it's old but netbook can be used for pc computer games.

If you want to try before you buy there is an enterprise trial, Try Windows 8.1 Enterprise | TechNet Evaluation Center.
There is also an upgrade advisor that will give info on compatibility, Upgrade Assistant: FAQ - Windows Help

The Intel Atom CPU has issues with Windows 8 for the older units. You will end up getting BSOD's. You are better off sticking with Windows 7 on that unit.
