9 Cell Battery Not Being " Detected" Windows 8.1

So I made a post over on seven forums but I was told to bring it over here...

I have a Dell Vostro 3650 running Windows 8.1 The battery was giving me about 30 minutes battery life so I bought a new, 9 cell, OEM battery. The "Probl

em" with the 9 cell battery is that it seems that Windows 8 is not really detecting the battery? I'm not sure. It will only tell me "unknown time remaining". It will not give me a notification of when the battery is going to die (Except the physical red button lighting on the front of the computer).

In terms of battery life, the battery works fine. I get hours and hours of battery life so I know the battery is functioning properly. In the BIOS, it is detected as battery performing regularly. I don't know why it is not showing the time. I tried uninstalling the Microsoft ACPI drivers in device manager and rebooting but nothing changed. I was a able to SHORTLY borrow a similar laptop to mine, but running windows 7. The time remaining was being displayed.

My Bios version is on the latest version. Why is this happening

The Battery was bought directly from DELL.

I have tried calibrating the battery. How to Calibrate Your Laptop

I downloaded a program called battery bar... And while not perfect, the program is able to give me estimated time remaining.. Length of time the laptop has been on battery. Why can this program do it, but windows cannot?

I did try running it down and recharging.

I installed quickset. On install I got an error message stating the battery needs to be changed... However, I've been on battery life for the last four hours... So I know the battery is working fine... If I try to open "Dell Extended Battery Life Options" in power management, it crashes with "Battery Meter has stopped working"

Fast forward three months where I've been using the Windows 10 TP.

On build 10074 right now and for some reason, the build shows the battery percentage with the time remaining....

Battery is still working fine. Just thought I would post an update...
