Solved ATI drivers won't install

[SOLVED] ATI drivers won't install

Hi,
I have a ATI Radeon 5850 and just reinstalled Windows 8. I downloaded the "amd-catalyst-omega-14.12-with-dotnet45-win8.1-64bit.exe" ATI drivers from Desktop

but they seems not to be installed. I'm getting all the time a notification that from the CCC that a new version 14.12 is available.

I also get an error message when Launching Battlefield 4 saying that my driver is outdated


How can I solve this ?

click update driver and when finished reboot pc

The "update" button brings me to the ATI page where I download again the "amd-catalyst-omega-14.12-with-dotnet45-win8.1-64bit.exe" file. I did that, rebooted, still the same

I think that the autodetectutility.exe from ATI worked.

If it happens again, first try clearing display drivers with Download Display Driver Uninstaller - MajorGeeks from safe mode first.

The driver seems to be installed now but the "AMD Gaming Evolved" software is still telling me to update. Do I even need this utility ??

It's a program to make presets for various games, I don't know if you are going to need it. I installed it but took it out of automatic Startup.
