Something wants to install a keyboard driver

Hi, the past couple of mornings on start-up (win8.1 pro) I get an Action-Center message to "Finish installing device software" and if I click it, it starts installing a keyboard driver.

The computer is all up to date with normal updates and nothing has changed on the computer so I can't see why it would want to suddenly install a new keyboard driver.

Concerned that it may be a nasty installer of some kind, I restored the entire system image back to the 17th and it worked OK for two days and then this morning the message is back.

How can I find what it is trying to install?

It might help to run a complete virus scan.
Especially a boot time scan to be sure.

Also, it might show up in Task Manager.

Thanks for the reply, but you are kidding, right? What would a virus scan do? It is not yet installed and I do not want to install it and then find it is a problem.

TaskManager, same again, it ain't installed yet.

Soooo, where can I find what it wants to install? There is obviously a list somewhere that the Action Center is privy to that shows something is waiting to be installed. I'd like to see at least one entry of that list. All I am getting is "keyboard driver" and that sounds risky until I understand what and who's keyboard driver.

I just ran windows update again and there are zero updates pending.

When I'm faced with a problem like this, the first thing I do is an image backup using Macrium Reflect, to an external drive.

That way, if the install trashes my machine in some way (as some have), it's only a few minutes to restore it back to its earlier state.

And, before you ask, System Restore does not do this for you; instead, all is does is restore the Operating System back to an earlier state.

Windows update will update drivers, I've seen that message from time to time. Why some drivers install silently in the background and some don't I have no idea?
