internal HDD makes weird noise

good evening.I just changed my internal HDD last month.the HDD did make a continuous high-pitched noise during Windows 8 installation.but when Windows 8 boots up, the noise dissapear.why this happens? (previous internal HDD didn't have this)lately, the laptop experiences freezes.sometimes it dissapears after forced-reboot (forced-off, then restart)Windows Action Center does ask me to do Driver Repair often.I proceed with the repair, but the freezes still occurs.right now I am doing "chkdsk /f"I am quite worried about the noise it makes.impending HDD failure?thanks!

Are you sure that is not your DVD Rom that is making the noise? If it is just with the hard drive, then that means the hard drive is on its way to a grave.

Have you tried Defragmenting (boot and a space consolidation).
