Having trouble installing a network printer

Hello All,

I am having problems connecting a Sharp MX2301N printer to my new laptop which is running Windows 8.1.

I have downloaded the W8.1 64 bit driver from Sharp and installed it. Should this be installed in a specific location?

Tried this suggestion http://www.eightforums.com/installa...-printers-w8-you-have-use-network-dialog.html

And also "Advanced Printer Setup" suggested here Why isn't Windows finding my Bluetooth or other wireless device? - Windows Help

I've added some screenshots to illustrate what happens.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated,

Michael

How many actual printers do you have? Is this on your personal LAN, or a Work LAN?

Hello Broe,

The Sharp device is our main one and does photocopying, scanning and printing.

Over Christmas it developed a fault requiring a service technician so we had to revert to older printers. The Sharp has been fixed now.

We connect to the sharp through a wireless network using the IP address.

Thanks for your reply,

Michael
