    Intel Atom and Windows 8.1

I'm a new Netflix subscriber, and I'm not overly thrilled with the app running on my Blu-Ray player or my game consoles. I was thinking of running a dedicated machine to handle these duties. I'm an IT Manager, and my company is willing to sell me (dirt cheap) a small Lenovo IdeaCentre Q150. It's a quiet little PC, but I'm not sure if it would handle the streaming duties.

It has an Intel Atom D525 processor and 2 GB of memory. I would replace the spinner drive with an SSD, so at least that part would be quick. Would that be enough juice to run Windows 8.1 and the Netflix app?

    Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit

Found a Zotac ZBox mini-PC on Amazon that uses the same processor. Might want to read the reviews, seems 8.1 is doable with the D525. I wouldn't expect miracles though.

So I really want to get a Windows 8 tablet but just cannot choose. It seems like everything is a compromise until Intel drops new 7w silicon and OEMs find a sweet spot. I would like a 10.1" Windows 8 tablet that is roughly the size and weight of the iPad. Right now this only seems doable with an...

I'm getting ready to upgrade several old Pentium4-based Dell desktops with the Intel 6700MUD motherboard and 4GB of RAM. Does anyone out there have any experience with Windows 8 and the Atom 6700 CPU? I know it won't be a speed demon, but it would be much better than an old P4-based box with 2GB of...
