Mouse moves up and down when I move it left to right

My mouse is inverted and moves side to side instead of up and down whenever I try to use it. The touchpad on my laptop works but the mouse I bought doesn't. Please help!

Yes, my mouse is wireless, its a 2.4G RX from Tesco

Is it the scroll function that's opposite or the actual cursor? I just want to make sure as some pages like the Windows Store scroll horizontally instead of vertically.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but are you holding it correctly? It appears from this picture that you could get it upside down, especially if you were say left handed. Although, I still don't think it would move the cursor the way you describe if it were upside down? Still, if I don't ask, I think somebody else eventually will.

It's the cursor itself, I'm defiantly holding it the right way, and the picture shown isn't the mouse I'm using.

OK, I Googled what you posted and that's what I got. I wasn't sure if it was your mouse but it was all I could find at the time. My best guess is a manufacturing defect. It sounds like the laser is installed incorrectly or wired up wrong. I'd return it.
