Adding mSATA to lappy advice

If I were to add an mSATA hard drive - around the 512Gig to 1TB size - to an HP lappy, how would I transfer the OS (Win8.1) and other crap from the existing hard drive and make it boot from the mSATA drive? I will be keeping the existing HDD for data storage.

Any recommendations as to mSATA drives? - UK prices please.

The msata drive must be GPT partitioned to be bootable unless you prefer MBR and legacy mode.
