Hi there!
I am Shadowtime101 and I'm new here to this forum. Here is my story my computer has gotten malware on it and I didn't do anything about it for like 6 months until it got really slow. So I decided to do a scan with malwarebytes. As it did the scan at the end it asked me to restart my pc to get rid of all of it. I didnt think anything would happen until when it turned my laptop back on it said automatic repair. Then it said some kind of error and said automatic repair couldnt fix the problem or something like that. I tried to get passed it but it just went into the automatic repair loop. Luckily I was able to restore to a later time but it was an infected restore point. My pc right now is very slow and is very bad. It takes like 5 minutes for it to turn off and 2-3 minutes to turn on. It used to be like in a few seconds. I do many scans but it does not find anything other than just some adware and tracking cookies. I got tired of it and I now want to do a reformat but I've done some research and automatic repair loop is some thing to do with hardware failure. I really want to reset my laptop now but I'm afraid of the bootloop and not being able to get back on to my computer. Is it possible for the bootloop to happen or hard drive failure to occur during the reformat? I don't want anything to mess this up.

Thanks,
Shadowtime101

What version of windows? You should be able to do a clean install using your windows setup media.. When you get to the partitions screen, remove all the partitions and let windows use the unallocated drive space

Wait a minute something just happened on my laptop, while I was in netflix and this is windows 8 when I was using netflix a screen popped up saying your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart we're just collecting some error info and then we'll restart for you then there was a file on the bottom but I wasn't able to get the name it said system something though. Does that mean anything?
