Hey, bought a new computer HP 110-414 desk top ! It is supposed to have 1TB hard drive but it shows in the specs as 786 mb out of 814 mb what's up with that ?? I have checked the Apps & all are in small MB's ! Wonder what will happen when the max is reached on drive "C" and where the system is stored "D" is showing 1912 mb's ..... It should be showing both in TB's not MB's !! Any ideas ??

Hello flashh4,

Due to the way the drive sizes are marketed, the size is not actually 1TB (1024 GB). It's more likely around 931-910 GB in size instead minus what is being used by Windows and what you have installed/saved.

Please post a screenshot of your Disk Management (diskmgmt.msc) window showing the full layout of this hard drive to see what else may be using the space. For example, recovery partitions.

You might want to check your setting in This PC mine all read in GB both my 256GB SSD and My 1TB SSD. I always keep my setting to Details so I can see what everything is. ICON just get crowded and you have to ask for details?
