W8.1 hangs at log on after having typed in the password.

Since November 2013, my Dell Venue 8 Pro has been a constant source of aggravation. Bug after bug. Unbelievable.

Now a new one. When I type in my password, the screen with my avatar stays hangs for 6 minutes! And then I see "welcome" and it goes to the main menu.

It doesn't matter either it is a fresh start or resuming from sleep mode.

Of course, everything is updated and current (Windows and all drivers on Dell). I suspect that a recent update causes this. I turned every non-Microsoft or non-Dell service off.

    How can I solve this?

I love the form factor of my tablet and also the fact that I can use a full version of MS Onenote but it is definitely a love and hate relation.

EDIT: Now I turned off ALL services. Wrong idea. At the log on screen, I can't even see my numbers keyboard (I use PIN mode)! How can get my services back? The accessibility mode won't allow me to have another keyboard either.

I was able to hard reset by an undocumented procedure.

Turn it on and as soon as the logo shows, keep the power button to turn it off. Repeat in sequence 3-4 times. And then a different menu will show.

    So I did.

I spent another 3 hours to reload everything.

    It is working now.

But I swear that if in the next 2 weeks, it starts to act again (as it did on a daily basis for the last year), I will make a freeze-bee of it and Ipad Mini 2, here I come.
