I downloaded the intel driver update utility and when it was done scanning it said that I had a customized computer manufacturer driver installed on my computer. what does this mean?

It does that when Microsoft/Windows update downloads and installs the Microsoft version of the driver.

Laptops, like most OEM computers, often have customized hardware which may not be compatible with generic Intel drivers. Intel warns about this on their website and the warning message confirms this. Best to stick with manufacturer supplied drivers, even if they are older.

Some of those "driver update" programs will report a lot of drivers out of date that aren't really out of date. Especially the ones that ask you to pay for the utility before they will actually update your drivers. Buyer beware.

IOBit has a poor reputation with most experienced members of this forum. I wouldn't use any of their products.

I've been using ASC since version 3, I've never had a problem with it, it's never installed anything, or changed my default search engine like some people have said. I've had surfing protection since it came out and never had any of the problems that some people have mentioned. I uninstalled ASC , driver booster and surfing protection yesterday since I don't need any of those programs anymore, maybe it was a good idea that I did
