In Device Manager I have an ! against Intel Management Engine Interface.
In Driver Properties it says:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
An invalid parameter was passed to a service or function.
I have also seen errors related to this in a recent Perfmon report.
I have tried to update the driver (right click on it in Device Manager, check on Dell website, check with Intel Driver Update Utility) but all these methods say I have the up to date one.
On my other Dell laptop (same spec) the same version of this is running without a problem. On that laptop there was an update in mid November that I don't have on the problem laptop. I have a feeling that I did a System Restore back around that time that affected a few things, and this may have been one of them. I thought I had kept a screenshot of this, but must have deleted it so I can't be sure.
Question is: how can I get this working again?
Should I try uninstalling and reinstalling it?
If so, what is the best (and most foolproof) way to do this? Can I do it from the right click options in Device Manager, for example? I'm a bit concerned that, if I uninstall it I may not get the correct version back again.
