Yes, I saw that the other day.

Looks like it might be very popular if they can get it working the way they want.

Very popular you said ? it will put the iPhone out of market .... may be too pricey to replace the cheap Android, but i guess Google care less about it, lol..If I was MS , I will take care of their desktop users, and don't piddle them too much with their forced metro stuff, Google is climbing more and more every year.

Yes, I think it won't be cheap.

Not at first anyway. That will limit the initial take up.

Brilliant idea - good luck to them.

It's been at least 30 years since I've used an actual typewriter but I still know how to type without looking at the keys because I didn't go to an exclusive private that couldn't afford technology more advanced than a quill pen.

Looks decidedly "Uncool" to me -- Honestly guys while the hardware and technology has moved on we were looking at these sorts of "Outfits" in the early 1960's.

Reminds me of people walking around "Tethered with an Earpiece to their Phone". To me that just says "Wage Slave -- I'm beholden to somebody else who thinks I am available for their requests at any time".

In any case I don't trust Google that much -- it would be EASY to build in subliminal advertising into that type of device or even political ideas.

Walking around tethered to electronic gizmos is definitely NOT COOL. Also I hope when you cross the road that YOU are responsible for the accident not the poor driver who can't brake instantly when you step out 1 metre in front of him totally locked up in some Virtual reality devoid of what's actually happening on the ground.

Cheers

I don't use those Bluetooth eye piece too, when I go in vacation I leave my phone in the hotel room safe, I check my message once a day only, nothing can not wait few hours when I am in vacation.

Hi there
What's the use of all that dosh if you don't have time to SPEND it. !!!!

For some people it's just a numbers game

Actually surprising though this might sound everybody has an "Optimum" happiness amount which is surprisingly small compared with what these billionaire's are worth.

In W. Europe the amount was reckoned to be around 110,000 EUR a year AFTER all taxes etc. with NO rent to pay -- i.e you owned your own property -- and no credit card or any other loans outstanding . So we are talking about 110,000 EUR DISPOSABLE income a year.

OK quite a bit above the majority incomes in W. Europe but this amount surprisingly was the amount people felt they could enjoy their lives reasonably, in a decent amount of privacy and not have any problems with Bills etc.

Once you start getting beyond this and buying "exclusive Yachts"s / expensive cars etc -- your life become more in the public domain -- you have for example a crew on a boat etc things get much more complex to manage and the average joe just couldn't be bothered.

Strange but true -- I know if you are out of work or on a low income the idea of 5 billion bucks sounds very nice indeed and who would refuse it but do the research -- you could probably work out your OWN comfort zone too as an exercise -- remember expensive gadgets such as country estates, yachts / planes etc means PEOPLE around to handle this stuff -- people over who you have little control and might HATE and further you really might not want to be bothered with this stuff.

If I can afford a nice Box at Man Utd when I'm in England -- that's a start !!!.

Cheers
jimbo

A few years back I was chatting with a friend who is an executive with a Fortune 50 company about people with Bluetooth headsets and Crackberrys wanting to look like they are important. He pointed out that he deals with the really big of the bigwigs all the time and that they don't wear Bluetooth earpieces or carry Crackberries, they have people who work for them that do that. He then pointed out that his job still requires him to have a Crackberry and a Bluetooth earpiece.

I recently received inside information that MS are developing a new technology that will make Google Project Glass obsolete.

Apparently it is a new microchip that a dentist installs in your tooth, and it downloads information from the clouds straight into your brain and is controlled by your thoughts! They said there is a risk involved after drinking a quart of whisky ... short circuits could fry your frontal lobe!
:roflmao:

I can just see all the Buddhist monks rushing to the stores to buy Google Glass to help in their contemplative meditation sessions on desolate mountains, where they try to empty their minds of all thoughts, emotions, images and clutter from the outside world, so as to be in touch with their inner psyche!

As Johnny Cash so aptly put it in one of his songs:

"But little they know, it's so hard to find,
One rich man in ten, with a satisifed mind.

Money can't buy back,
your youth when you're old.
Or a friend when you're lonely,
or a love that's grown cold."

The problem with any addictive behaviour is ... and especially if accumulating $$$ is the object of the addiction ... there's no such thing as enough. When the first $1M gaol is achieved it doesn't satisfy, so they think they need another ... and another ... and another ... ad infinitum.

The problem is they're trying to fulfill a psychic or spiritual need with material objects, and it never works.

As Paul Hogan ... of Crocodile Dundee fame ... would say: "Bit of philosophising there for you sunshine ... and it's FREE! Yeee Haaaa!" ;)
