Best tablet/notebook hybrid for pc gaming?

I'm in the market for a new tablet or gaming laptop but I would love to have this in a hybrid if possible. I travel a lot with my job so i have a strong desire to get back into fps gaming. I currently have an asus t100 and am surprised at all it can play but the mousepad just plain sucks and id like a slightly bigger screen if possible. I saw a dell Inspiron 11 3000 at best buy and I really like this size and the way it can change forms. I don't expect it to be top of the line but I would like to be able to play the latest games. Maybe not at the highest settings but not at the lowest either. Or are tablets not quite there yet? Just wondering what my options, if any, are. Thanks.

    Hi there.

Gaming and tablets are usually a contradiction in terms - however if your wallet can run to it a Surface Pro 3 plus the docking station would make IMO an ideal convertible -- the Video can drive a full 4K monitor and if you get the i7 (or possibly even the I5) you might find the CPU has enough power.

Certainly as a laptop replacement I haven't had any issues -- but you WILL need the docking station. You Don't have to use the Ms keyboard if you prefer a blue tooth or 3rd party wireless one.

I'm not a gamer so I don't know what extra things you'd need - but if you want a tablet with plenty of power that can also work as a laptop (and a top of the range laptop as well) go for the SP3. A bit of a wallet busting price - but Xmas is coming !!!!!.

But to repeat - you WILL need the docking station though.

    Cheers

Alienware makes about the best gaming laptops but will cost you. Origin and Asus also have some beastly models. None of them are cheap.

The 2014 Alienware 17 gaming laptop is beastly and beautiful

    Hi there

No argument with Alienware - but you almost need a Fork Lift truck to carry one around. I believe the OP was looking for a more Portable solution if possible. !!!!

We don't all have Arnie Schwarzenegger's tree trunk like Biceps and arms. (Back in his heyday when he was making the Terminator movies !!).

Lol, quite true Jimbo. Not like a tablet but not like dragging a desktop around either. I wouldn't spend the money on one myself but I suppose those who are into LAN parties might be keen on them.

One note about laptop and tablets for gaming.

If you look at the games that are out TODAY, you can definitely open your wallet and shell out for something that should
adequately play most games currently on the market.

BUT, laptops and tablets are not known for their options to be upgraded. Not to say that they can't be. But it's not as easy as like with a desktop where you can easily replace the processor, GPU and even upgrade the RAM. Depending on what you want to upgrade, this could be a daunting task to being nearly impossible for a tablet or laptop.

What that means is the games that will come out tomorrow, or next year, or in a couple of years, may not run on your tablet or laptop even though it can run the games available today. Just keep this in mind.

I generally replace my computer every two years anyways so I can deal with not being able to upgrade. I saw that Lenovo has a new think pad yoga that has an Intel i5 and a GeForce gt 840m. How is this video card?
