Wireless Network Adapter Driver issue?

Not sure when this problem started, but my download speed is very slow on my laptop. Other laptops and devices in the room get about 20-30 Mb/s download and up. My computer gets about 1-5 download and 20-30 upload. I reinstalled the default wireless network adapter (Qualcomm atheros ar956x) and the speeds were back to normal for me. But after restarting the computer, or putting it to sleep and then waking, the slow speeds return. Also it slows down if I disable and re enable adapter. The speed is normal in safe mode. It seems like something is conflicting with the driver, but I do not know what. The laptop is a Lenovo G505s. The problem continues to happen if its plugged in or not. I have tried updating BIOS and that did not do anything.

I don't have this adapter. Someone on another board had this suggestion for a partial solution:

"-Device manager, open the device and on the tab Power Management, uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off the..."
"-Control Panel, Power Option, either use the "High Performance" or modify the plan settings (in advance power settings) so the wireless adaptor is not affected by the power management."

A Google search for this adapter and problem shows a lot of people with the same problem. They seem to think a new driver is needed.

I couldn't remove the adapter so its not effected, but it was already on Maxiumum Performance. I installed the latest drivers as well, it gave me fast internet speeds but upon hibernating and then waking, the slow speeds were back.
