Every time I plug my ipod into my laptop, I get a message that says: "IPOD E: There is a problem with this drive. Scan now and fix it." I then get a box that asks if I want to fix it. I click on scan and fix, only to get an error checking box telling me : "We found errors on this drive. To prevent data loss, repair this drive now. " I click on repair drive. In the scanning and repairing box, it says "Error Checking (IPOD (E:))" At this point nothing happens except my laptop freezes, until I eject the ipod manually. Okay, so here's the thing. On my old windows 7 computer, the ipod works perfectly. Has anyone else had this problem? If you know how to fix it, I would be eternally grateful.

It's pretty generic message, every time Windows do not properly recognize some file system, it wants to "fix" it. Happens with many other devices like memory cards from cameras, Linux formatted USB drives, phone memory cards etc. Ignoring message is how I deal with it as it may corrupt that device.

broe23,
I went to the link and tried everything there, but none of them worked. I think I will have to continue using my old computer for itunes, when I want to add new music to my ipod. Either that or buy a new one. This is one of those times when I got tired of messing around with a problem. You asked me why I answered your question about the type of ipod I have. I am sorry for wasting you time with an answer. I guess I didn't realize it was rhetorical. I appreciate your help.

Mark it up to what CountMike stated. Just ignore the message and move on.
