How to disable 'scanning your device'?

A couple days ago, somehow, I turned on 'scanning your device' and now I get a black screen every time I plug my phone into the USB port to charge it. I'm trying to figure out how to disable this 'feature'. It's really annoying because the connection is a bit worn, and it keeps connecting and disconnecting...connecting and disconnecting...connecting and disconnecting...connecting and disconnecting...connecting and disconnecting...connecting and disconnecting...connecting and disconnecting...connecting and disconnecting...connecting and disconnecting...

I don't want anything to happen when I plug the phone into the USB port.

    Thanks.

You could disable autoplay AutoPlay - Enable or Disable Remembering User Choices

Then nothing will happen. It is a good idea generally especially if you ever plug anything into another computer.

Thank you, but that didn't work. This is pretty bad. If a gently breeze blows, the phone could move, and connection is so tenuous, that it jumps to that startup screen. I don't even know how it got turned on, but there must be a way to turn it off. This was never a problem, until about 2 weeks ago.

Any other ideas? I don't even know what this is called.

    Thanks.

Oh, now I see it! It's all the way at the bottom.

    Thanks. All set now.

Hi Each time I turn off and on my extarnal LCD with (crappy) built-in speakers, they're detected as new attached hardware and auto set themselves as default instead of my preferred speakers. Can this be somehow disabled (possibly without disabling the LCD driver from system), it's irritating.
Hi, First, I would like to start off by saying that this is not a Windows 8 exclusive problem, I've had it in Windows 7 and upon install to Windows 8, it still occurs, which is leading me to the conclusion that this is a hardware problem. Ever since I built my machine in early 2014, it seems...
