An old 3COM Wireless PCI card

    Hello!

I upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 8.1 (x86) an older desktop PC (Lenovo ThinkCentre) and everything works excellent.

Except one thing - an old wireless PCI card (it worked fine in Windows XP). It's driver got installed with the Windows Update (there's no Windows 8.1 driver for it to be found anywhere else, only the XP one is available). It says that no connections are available and I have to use the LAN cable to be able to connect to the Internet. There are wireless connections available though and I'd like to make it work.

Wireless Network Adapter's name (as displayed in the Device Manager):
3Com 3CRDAG675 Wireless LAN PCI Adapter

    Driver File: net5213xp.sys
    Driver Provider: 3Com
    Driver Date: 5.5.2005
    Driver Version: 2.0.0.1

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

I'd have to say it is not compatible and you won't find a 8.1 driver for it.

This person couldn't get it to work on 7 either: Old 3COM wireless PCI adapter driver for Windows 7 x64 - Windows 7 Help Forums

It does seem someone got it working on 64 bit 7 with an atheros driver. You may try finding a 32 bit version of same driver. However, 7 is not 8.1.

Hey, that person from the Seven Forums is of course me.

When I had Windows XP on the card worked.

When I had Windows 7 there was a question mark in the Device Manager.

But in Windows 8.1 there is no question mark, it's a driver installed by the Windows 8.1 Update - so I think it SHOULD work?

Lol, I didn't even notice that was you in other 7 post. Sorry bout that.

About all I can come up with is if you go into Device Manager and select update driver then let me pick, does more than one compatible driver appear? Try the other(s) if more than one.

It's OK, no need to apologise.

Sadly there's only one compatible driver appearing there.
