I have a laptop with 4GB of memory, would I be right to assume that The memory is likely to consist of a single module I ask after noting in task manager that I apparently use 1 of 4 slots I am quite sure there are no spare bay's available inside the computer, but Is it possible that task manager has somehow misdetected these memory slots? Thankyou for your time effort. g

Yes, it's possible. Most Notebooks/Laptops have only two RAM slots, some have one slot hidden on the 'other' side of the motherboard and usually will be classed as non-removable, at least by the user as it requires disassembly of the Notebook just to get at it. Might give the free Advisor from Belarc - System Management For The Internet Age. Software license management, IT asset management, IT security audits and more. a try, see what it shows. Or SIW http://www.downloadnet.org/lp/free-...8mdv0etlcso0-27801494e86efde8b0f369e7a9987a20.
