I'll be on a website and this window will pop up. www. driverupdate. net is the URL. Not legit, right? I scanned my computer and no malware came up. How do I get rid of this thing?

    Hello Snail,

Personally, I don't trust drivers unless they come directly from the device's manufacturer driver download page.

It is a legit application and it is Microsoft partner. The advertisement was probably bundled with some setup.
Check installed applications, if there is anything odd, anything you do not know or a new browser's extension.

EDIT: Remove DriverUpdate.net pop-up ads (Virus Removal Guide)

Thanks all. After posting this I went to Programs to uninstall it, but there was nothing there. So I downloaded Malwarebytes and ran a scan. It caught all kinds of PUPs. So much for my other anti-virus software which said I had no viruses or malware. So far the popup hasn't come up again.

Good news. It would hurt to use Malwarebytes every day for a bit to help make sure it's still clean.

Well, PUPs are not officially malware, AVs don't usually catch them.
