Yeah, mine is Nvidia 740M - I'm not expecting any huge ones but 5.3 is bit on lower side, I had enabled high performance in NVidia control panel & rechecked still score is the same,

I ran "WinSAT Prepop" command, Is there something else?

any idea if WinSAT score are for random read/write or sequential ones? Or is it combined score?
In the recent Disk assessment .xml file in C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore shows 8.2 in random read section,

EDIT: I ran the command in Option 2 again from the link you provided, it has changed to latest values

    Powershell:

    hardware assessment recent .xml file:

the disk assessment score is given for both sequential read & random reads:

I've uninstalled 3D Driveguard from control panel & it is no longer in the system tray icons, and no error showing in Device manager too. You think its OK for leaving it like that isn't it? As you've told, since its no longer needed for SSDs , its not a problem I remove it from control panel?

I had a hunch that the command you were running was just pulling the last run values out and not actually rerunning it again. Mobile "M" cards will usually score lower than the normal desktop version of the same card. They are usually running with shared RAM instead of their own dedicated RAM. My laptop has dual switchable graphics. There is a Radeon HD 7660G that uses shared RAM and a 7670M that has 1GB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM. I haven't run the WEI on it and likely won't. I don't put much faith in what WEI shows. I'm not big on benchmarking. If I can play my game with decent graphics and no stuttering I'm happy.

I'd leave Driverguard uninstalled. It's not going to do anything for you anyway. There a re a bunch of ASUS utilities that I 'd install on my system. I'll never use them so I don't install them. I only install what is needed for all my hardware to work. I think there are three that I actually use, The ATK utility, the Radio Control utility and the Smart Gesture utility. Other than that its just drivers.

Nvidia gt 740M is actually have a dedicated VRAM isn't it? I could see 1GB dedicated in specs of this laptop, may be wei tool is benchmarking with Intel graphics? When i opened up dxdiag tool, Intel is the main graphic driver and nvidia is for only rendering it seems.. I'm not sure though.

    Mine is switchable graphics,

I had few problems earlier 2 months back with new drivers from hp for graphics - nvidia, so I'm using those which came with the system from factory, not planning to change it anytime, I'm getting good performance on gaming with no lags or black flashes

I like only 3d driveguard & cool sense in HP bloatwares. Have coolsense still in my system.

It can get tricky with mismatched switchable graphics as far as drivers go. When I say mismatched I mean like Intel and NVidia where they are not both from the same manufacturer. Installing an Intel driver and an NVidia driver may not work correctly. That's where the laptop manufacturers driver may be the one to go with. Mine is AMD/AMD so I can install the latest catalyst driver right from AMD. I can set what program uses what video card too. I don't game on my laptop so I just let it do its thing in the background automatically. In most cases I think if I'm plugged into my power pack its using the 7670M, and if on battery it switches to the 7660G. I'm almost always on the power pack anyway. I ran an extension cord right up the middle of my patio table just so I could plug my laptop in when I'm out on my deck. My table is in my gazebo so I don't need an umbrella. That lets me run the extension cord right up the center of the table out of the way.

I've no freedom for that I suppose
Nvidia is pretty decent one, but I've not tested it with any high end games yet, not into gaming too

There's a option to make global graphics in nvidia control panel but I'm not getting much of improvement apart from the basic Intel graphics that's present I suppose,
Based on power plan , i think Intel is automatically chose while on battery & on AC supply it's nvidia - that's what HP tech guys told me about switchable one I'm having

I game, just not on my laptop. My system specs for this site list my desktop specs. That's the PC I game on. What's listed for my system specs on 9 forums is my laptop. I did that because its likely to be the first PC I try 9 on. I play some FPS games, racing sims and flight sims. I only have a GT 640 on my desktop PC but it does alright. I have no complaints with game quality. It will drive my 3 monitors OK. so that's a

I'm happy with the nvidia, but being a laptop i can't demand more
I play asphalt airborne occasionally and it's good performance though it's not a high end game,

One thing i noted on changing to SSD is the temp of laptop.. Its dead cool now ,
Previously it was warm on the hard drive side over the topcover & also warm air near the vents.
    Also,
I had calibrated battery few days before SSD upgrade, should I re calibrate again now?

Putting an SSD in a laptop has advantages. As you noticed they generate less heat, which is a good thing especially in a laptop. They also draw less power so your battery lasts longer. Less heat means your cooling fan runs less, which also gives you even more time when on battery. The bigey though is the speed boost. Most laptops have a 5400 RPM drive so they are slower than even your normal desktop which have 7200 RPM drives. Put an SSD in and bang, your off to the races. SSD's weigh less than a spinner too.

I wouldn't bother recalibrating your battery.

Ok, that's a good choice I've made here - putting SSD is the best deal

Thanks alphanumeric for all your helpful suggestions,
