Refurbished HP Pavilion 17 Overheating/fan issue

Hi all. I recently bought this HP Pavilion 17 refurbished by the Geek Squad at best buy. the laptop is nice except for the processor. its a AMD A8-4500M, and it either is overheating, or the fan is just overkill. all i have to do s open chrome, and the fan gets audibly annoying. im not one to get annoyed by fans since my desktop is always on, but the laptop is LOUDER than all the fans on my desktop. CPUID HW Moniter says the CPU is running at 57 degress Celsius! thats not even a hot temp for this laptop. can someone help? free to give more info if needed.

The only thing i found was that there was a option for "Fan Always On" and turned that off. The fan still is always on and loud. Maybe i just need to accept that it has a loud fan or....?

i feel it might be overheating. dont know much about taking it apart, but im worried because even in chrome the fan is spewing out hot air.

GS refurbished it ? Ugh. They may forgot or did not apply properly paste between processor and cooler. Is that temperature measured under load or at idle ?

45-57 idle. I'm not sure if hardware monitor is wrong though, because other programs say otherwise.

Too high for idle, should not be over 10c higher than room temp. On the other hand AMD processors do not show accurate temps at idle. CPid Monitor should show max temperature too. Is that per core temperature you are measuring.?

Nope. Is there another program that would be more reliable, or does it not even matter?

You can try SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer but does not show core temperatures. There's also AIDA64 | PC Benchmark | System Diagnostics | Stability Test . Everest Home Edition Free Download Download Core Temp (64-Bit) v1.0 RC 6 (freeware) - AfterDawn: Software downloads and more.
