Surface Pro 3 and Power Settings Issue

I have a Surface Pro 3 and am unable to independently set the ‘Turn Off Display After’ and the ‘Put The Computer to Sleep’ settings different from each other when plugged in to power. When I change them and save them to different settings, they both revert back to the same setting the next time I check on them. I would like Turn Off The Display set to 20 minutes and Put the Computer to Sleep set to Never when connected to power.
    Any ideas, thanks in advance.

    Welcome to Eight Forums,

Please try this..... go to Device Manager and expand Network Adapters. Double click on the problem network adapter select the Power Management tab. Make sure that "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is check off.

Just wanted to confirm this. I got my SP3 in June, and was horribly confused for a while about this behavior--even had a chat support session with a MS person--who did not really help me, and asked questions in the context of whether I was having power profile issues--which I was not, but was a problem at the time. After more research, I confirmed, this behavior is due to the new Connected Standby feature. Which I really wish, if the system is getting power, that turning the display off really just turned the tablet screen off but left the system otherwise on and functioning. Le sigh...

This was driving me insane until I figured this out. Turn on Hyper-V and connected standby goes away. Not a big deal. Still boots up quick. Now you have access to other power schemes. And you can finally set your monitor to turn off while the Surface is still wide awake.
