Windows 8 - Keyboard does not work in browsers

1. Keys do not work in Any of the Internet Browsers. Even the on-screen keyboard does not help.

2. Every time I double click a file, A pop-up "Do you want xyz to make changes to the computer ?" is welcoming me!

3, I click on any of the icons in the task-bar and a new window is opening. For example, If I click on the firefox icon pinned at the bottom, Every instance I click it, a new window is opening

4. I am not able to open a folder by double click. I can only open it by right click and then Open

5. None of the keys and keyboard shorcuts seem to work. But that is not the problem with keyboard because, I am able to type words in Wordpad and Notepad

I formatted my Windows 8 twice and still these problems are there.
Even if I restart it, things work fine for 5 min and then the problem would be back.

Can you please suggest me a solution / fix for this ? Please, that would be of great help. This is eating up the whole of my time.

Welcome to Windows Eight Forums, tagsmin.

Additionally, make sure "Get updates for other devices" is checked in Windows Updates settings.

It may also be a virus. Run a full scan.

Additionally, open Device Manager to see if there are any yellow warning ⚠ triangles.

I think the problem is that, there is some key that is being pressed automatically.
That is why in the browser, If I type h, History tab is opening!
I unchecked the sticky keys option in control panel. Disabled it totally
I can hear some key sounds in the background sometimes!
But I do not see any Ctrl/ Shift key selected in the Sticky key-board
It is a laptop> Dell Inspiron 15 R N 5010

Hippsie and Midou,

The problem dies down after I re-boot. But it pops-up within 10 minutes after I start the machine!
And this is the case with both the keyboards
I tried it with both the inbuilt keyboard and USB keyboard. The issue is there....
I do not Remember how many times I battered my keyboard

The reason I ask is if it's a laptop it may be overheating.

Please update your specs on your forum profile or post them here to better help you, otherwise we're guessing. Thanks.
