Main drive and data drive SATA connectors?

Hi, When I go to Computer Management my main (OS) drive shows as "Disk 1" and my 2nd internal data drive shows as "Disk 0". Should I switch the SATA cables so that the main drive will show as "Disk 0 and the 2nd internal drive as "Disk 1"? Or should I ignore this? Thanks.

    Hello Antares,

As long as you are not having any issues booting to Windows, I wouldn't worry about it. It doesn't matter what the Disk number is.

Thanks Brink, I don't have any issues booting to Windows, that's why I asked if I should ignore this. The weird thing is that I made sure to connect the main drive to the correct SATA port in the motherboard (the first one) and the 2nd internal drive to the second one, and yet Windows will show the main drive as 1 and the data drive as 0. Other than boot, can this create any other issues?

It shouldn't be an issue at all.

Missing SATA DVD drive? in Drivers & Hardware
Hi, I am trying to install a graphics card in my desktop pc. The heat sink on the card blocks the SATA port that the DVD drive is plugged into (SATA1) so I've switched the DVD drive to SATA2. The drive is now showing as connected to port2 in the BIOS, but in windows (Win8 64-bit) it isn't...
So, I was thinking about buying a 128GB SSD and installing Windows 8 on it, but installing my programs and games to my secondary HDD drive. My question is, how much performance would I gain if I'm still launching my programs and games from the HDD instead of the SSD? Also, would it just be...
