Did you install the driver again in Windows after all that?

Anyhow, try this - it will tell us if your adapter is in a working state now (meaning hardware working, not ACTUALLy working lol)

Open a command prompt as Admin (elevated)

type this then press enter: ipconfig /all

Copy/paste the results to here or make (a) screenshot(s).

To copy/paste, right click on it then choose select all. Press enter to copy.

Prateek - I was looking forward to this info because I can then see if you have a physical address bound to the adapter or not.

If not, there is still an issue with the DMI pool needing to be cleared. <<< Most important. (Also make sure again all networking stuff is enabled in bios.)

If there is not, you can also try entering in any fake mac address in the device manager for the adapter. Use all 0, 1, a, b only. Any combination is good but just make sure you fill the entry completely with them. Reboot.

I would even disconnect the RJ-45 cable from the physical port to see if the code 10 goes away. Just more ideas.

If you copied and pasted everything shown in its entirety, then your adapter is having a problem at bios level. It is missing information for sure.

I would reinstall the latest bios yet again, only this time, see if there are any check boxes to clear the dmi along with the install.

Or research your motherboard on how to do so. That should reset the adapter working again.

It is also a good idea to set the motherboard bios to Optimized Defaults; once before you update the bios (to see how it is now) and after (to set to it again if it changed.)

Do you remember what I was saying about code 10 and incorrect identifying of the hardware?

Turns out I just investigated your board. Intel is saying it has 8101L Realtek.

    Try installing this:

If it works, then after, do a Windows Update and install the updated driver if it offers one.

I have a potential solution if these machines with problems were upgrade installed to Windows 8 instead of clean install.
