Disabling Auto Network Printer Install

Hello all,

My laptop tends to install all the printers on the network where I work. I dont use any of those printers and having them installed is pointless and a pain. I can delete them, but it will go and install them all again. Is there anyway I can disable this so it doesn't keep doing it?

You just turn off that feature. See Drivers - Turn Off Automatic Driver Installation - Windows 7 Help Forums Even though it is for 7, it works for Windows 8.x.x.

I'm not sure that will help here. The only options I get are these:



Maybe I'm wrong, but it seems like all that will do is stop it from looking at Windows Update for a driver. It doesn't seem like it will stop it from auto installing printers that are on the network.

network discovery

You need to turn off network discovery.
otherwise it will keep identifying and set them up on your network.
