Problems 8.1 update - wifi and hardware

Hi all,

After I did the 8.1 update I had a problem with my wifi, it can't be enabled anymore with the keyboard command. This command only enables and disables the airplane mode now. Before it also enabled automaticly my wifi. When I click the wifi icon near the clock, the blue side bar opens. Here the wifi switch is grey and cant be enabled. In networks my wireless adapter is running. The windows problem solver for networks tells me to switch wifi on in the side bar (!!!). See the atteched screenshot.

I updated my drivers, nothing works.

I also updated my drivers of my keyboard, no effect. Afterwards I re-installed my keyboard (and also my mouse - don't ask me why) and they are both gone now. My keyboard isn't even shown in the device manager anymore.

Windows restore can't be done since the update, it was suddenly turned off.

Does anyone know what to do?
Thanks a lot!

Check device manager and see if you can enable it from there. Pressing the Keyboard WIFI button on my laptop turns Airplane mode on and off. For me when Airplane is On WIFI toggles to Off. When Airplane mode is off the WIFI toggles to On. They both switch when I press the keyboard WIFI on off button.

With me the problem is that wifi wont toggle anymore when pushing this button. Neither in device manager.
The weird thing with my keyboard is, since the re-installation i cant type anymore, but the function key (combinations) do work.

I'd try reinstalling the chip-set drivers. If you have a USB keyboard I'd plug it in and see if it will work.

Check with your computer or motherboard manufacturer for the Keyboard Hotkey software. That is why you are unable to use the Fn key's for various functions. The upgrade to .1 wiped it out, or the software is not compatible.
