    Permanently Disable Driver Signing in Windows 8 / 8.1!!!!

    Hi EvryOne,
    Today i thought i'd share a way to permanently disable the annoying Driver Signature Enforcement in
    Windows 8 / 8.1 - for the sake of bearing with a small watermark in the corner.

    1.Open up Command Prompt as an admin.

    2.Type these lines => One By One and press enter accordingly.
    ----> bcdedit -set loadoptions DISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
    ----> bcdedit -set TESTSIGNING ON

    3.Plz note Once Again that this will show a watermark on the bottom right corner of your screen.

    This didn't work for me. It is as though Microsoft has released an update to prevent this workaround. I have Windows 8.1 Pro. I have the watermark but the driver only loads if I go through the proper temporary process. After a reboot the driver isn't loading.

    Try the following from this Microsoft forum thread.
    You have to disable UEFI Secure Boot in BIOS setup before attempting to disable driver signing.

    Thanks. I'll take a look at this tonight. I never activated secure boot though. So unless it's on by default. This is a PC I built myself. Not a new one which has shipped with the Windows 8 Logo Program which insists on secure boot being enabled. The driver signing does get disabled if I got through the advanced startup manual method but this only lasts one boot. I'm looking to have it remain disabled permanently until I change my mind. The advice this thread gives does not appear to deliver on the latest updated Windows 8.1 Pro.

    a follow on this: I recently installed Win8.1 on a custom built PC using an old Intel D101GGC board (made in late 2005) and all the commands sri2000 mentioned worked as expected and even on the next restart (aka. driver signature enforcement was seemingly disabled permanently). perhaps is because the board was using a traditional (non-UEFI) BIOS chip and not the modern UEFI bios chips found in motherboards/laptops made in late 2012 when Windows 8 first came out.

    mcnaugha, you really have to either get an older board made in 2011 or earlier that doesn't use UEFI chips (aka. ones that use traditional BIOS chips) because of those security features built into those UEFI chips that prevent use of the bcdedit testsigning commands. or try to set your UEFI to boot into "Legacy Mode" and install & run Win8.x from there which can be tricky.
