Nah, I am waiting for the official Nokia or MS update. But none in sight yet. But I am in no hurry.

In the meantime here is a pic of my current desktop and a pic of a few selections of my webradio which I really like. It is the Nostalgie app. It may look French, but it is very international.

I am actually not sure whether I will like the transparancy look. It probably depends on the background picture.

I see what you mean. Hardly worth the phone. One would think they would schedule different people each week. I take it this is mainly when a server goes down?

We can pick what we want. It has to be on our Verizon plan, and it has to be under $200 with the contract our I have to pay the difference out of pocket.
I had Vz, but AT&Bleed had the exclusive on the 1520, so I went with buying outright with prepay. $200 ought to get a nice device.

We have 1 person on BlackBerry still, handful on iPhones (becoming more popular), the rest on Droids. We don't have a Windows phone yet.
Well then you can be the “first kid on the block” to get a Windows phone.

Is that your significant other in the background?

I can't for the life of me find how to turn the tiles on and off. Where is it?

Looks like that pic on your phone would make a good one! Is that who was waiting to serve cookies to Santa when he came down the chimney?

It's a small shop people wise. We all have areas of expertise, and we just call whomever is best at something whenever there is a problem and if we cannot reach them, we move down the list. It works for us, and means we don't have to stay right near a computer on a given weekend. If we are out and about and there is a problem, we just call somebody else who might be in a better position to help out. I've been on call like this for nearly 15 years.

Yeah, mostly sever down stuff. Or alerts that hard drives are filling up, cpus are pegged, memory is over utilized, hard disks have failed, backup jobs have completed/failed....our end user problems like somebody cannot VPN into the network, or can't get email, etc.

We have about 7 server guys managing about 500 virtual servers for customers and back end office stuff. We are about 90% Linux and 10% Windows. Have about 275 desktops, about 90% Windows and around 10% Apple which has just started coming into the mix in the last year. Our core developers have all starting moving to Apple and as they say, "you will have to pry them from it cold dead hands". Our director of IT and development is on a Mac. When it was time to upgrade the server guys in the US he told us we could get Apples, but we all declined. It would not be a great for me at work.
