SD Card Disconnect

Hi Guys, I have a Asus T100 tablet with 32GB SSD. I bought a 64GB SD card to augment the storage on the tablet. The problem I am having is that the SD card disconnects after a few minutes of no activity, I then have to take it out of the tablet and pout it back in. I then have the folder in my C Drive again. How do I prevent the SD card from disconnecting so that I can use it as additional storage?

It sounds like something in your computer's USB settings. Try going into your device manager & looking up your USB ports & that...whatever the thing is your SD card connects to [the protcols]. I have a feeling that your computer has a power saver...I sort of had similar issue with my HP desktop (it's new & I didn't know this. Found out through trial & error). I went through the most exasperating time with not being able to get the SD or USB's on my system to connect at all. What I didn't know is that it's a common thing with today's batch of computers, tablets etc. The USB's & any ports on the computer are deactivated; are on a power saving plan unless you modify the settings. Therefore it seems most likely your SD which you're saying deactivates after a few minutes of inacitivty is set on a setting to automatically disable after inactivity to save system resources (power). So if you know where to look to check your power plan settings & how it affects all your tablets ports, plug & play devices [usb hubs etc.] including the SD slot...then it should hopefully resolve your problem.

I'm not proficient at computer stuff or techie...but it just seems this is the most likely source of it's random deactivation...you can only try it & see if that solves the problem. Hope this insight helps
