    Trackpad support in Win8

After installing Windows 8 on my Dell XPS 15z, it doesn't seem to know about my trackpad.

I mean, the trackpad works as a mouse, but there are no settings, no multi-touch or gesture support, nothing in control panel...

Is there a trackpad "class driver" or something? I would really like to tweak settings like the palm-detection, and have some two-finger scrolling support...

I will admit that the Win7 drivers for this trackpad (Dell XPS 15z) are pretty awful... which is why I'm hoping there's some "class driver" for Win8 that will give me smooth multi-touch support, and configuration options like sensitivity.

Go to dell.com support and get the driver for your touchpad under input, I put the link at the bottom to the drivers page to your laptop, hope it helps.

Thanks, that was really helpful. I installed the drivers, and it's a lot better... but there are still strange things.

Pinch-to-zoom in IE10-Metro is anything but smooth. And no two-finger scrolling works on the Start Screen at all... very strange.

yeah, mine doesn't work either, that could just be something they need to work out still, or something else that I have no idea about, lol

Using specific trackpad swipes. in Drivers & Hardware
Hi, so I wanted to disable the swipe from the top edge to open app controls or whatever. I could only find threads and such for turning them all off. Apple Magic Trackpad in Drivers & Hardware
I've been using this with Windows 7...it's not fully functional by Mac standards but it's a dandy basic trackpad using the Apple's driver for Windows under Boot Camp. It strikes me that this would be a perfect tool for interfacing with the new Windows 8 UI on a desktop computer. Someone's going...
