Just looked at the manual for MB, nowhere directly to set that. All I can think of is to go to Advanced / APM tab and set "Restore AC Power Loss (Power off) to (Power Off) and Power On by PCIE/PCI to Disabled.

My ASUS motherboards have that feature. I can power the PC up from a cold start just by pressing a key on my keyboard or clicking the mouse. It's not in sleep or hibernate, its completely shut down. There is actually a jumper on the motherboard that feeds the +5V aux from the power supply to the PS2 ports and the USB ports. There is also a BIOS settings that goes with it. I have my Media PC setup this way as its hidden away. I just click the trackball button to start it up. Check your owners manual to see if it has the jumpers. If it does you just switch them to the other setting and the AUX +5V feeding the ports is removed. They will only get power when the PC is on.

That's where its at for my ASUS motherboards. Along with the Restore on AC Power Loss settings I have "Keyboard Power On" and "Mouse Power ON" settings.

If the above options dont help, try searching for an "S3" power setting in your bios. Disableing this will to my knowledge only effect waking from sleep mode, meaning youll have to press your power button on the box to wake from sleep rather than move a mouse or press a key..

it "Should" prevent your wake from keyboard and mouse issues.

just a thought. I could be wrong, I am wrong allot.

Ants, the OP says his computer is completely off and that clicking on the keyboard or mouse will boot the computer.

A couple of us gave him options on how to stop clicking the keyboard or mouse to wake the computer up; but that's not what he needed. When the logical side of my brain thinks about it, why in the world would anyone be upset by being able to click a key or the mouse to wake up a computer. But . . . Like you, I and others have given him that option.

Hi Wyona, yeah I got the part about the computer being off. Disabling S3 should prevent anything other than the start button on the box starting the PC (As well as maybe the options in OS already provided) as a result, stop his issue.

I remember old BIOS settings used to have an option to disable wake from keyboard, mouse, usb devices allowing to start up a pc. I dont know what the call it now in a bios, I downloaded his manual. Couldn't see a thing..

Oh, I thought that you were just waking it from sleep, not completely booting it up! Sorry 'bout that.

Ah, I think the confusion stems from "wake" and "boot".
