Mouse "wireless" tab

In W7, with older drivers, the mouse config window had a WIRELESS tab. And a prompt would issue a low battery warning.

With the advent of the newer MS Mouse/Keyboard Center, those features vanished. On 8.1 as well. Any way to get them back?

My keyboard and trackball are Logitech and both wireless. I have to install the Logitech Setpoint software to monitor the batteries and get low battery warnings.

SetPoint software is buggy in both W7 and W8.1 here, so I've abandoned Logitech mice.
The mouse in question is a wireless Microsoft Explorer 2.0, and its associated Keyboard/Mouse Center.

My keyboard and trackball work fine without Setpoint. You didn't fill in your system specs so I had no idea what hardware you were using. I don't use Microsoft peripherals so I can't help you there.

I have a Logitech combo, but I've NOT installed the software; the LED on the top of my mouse flashes yellow when my batteries are low and the keyboard has a 'fuel' gauge. Your Microsoft products may have something similar.

Yes, I can imagine that your board and ball work OK without SetPoint. But here, using the unifying software for both keyboard and mouse - with or w/o SetPoint - it bogs down W7 for a few minutes after boot, and hangs briefly at shutdown. There are numerous other problems, but this isn't a Logitech forum, so we'll leave it at that.

There is no battery indicator on this MS wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0.
