Wrong BIOS setting laptop wont turn on

    Hey guys
I have a problem with my laptop especially the BIOS, I set up a wrong setting in the BIOS and now the laptop just turn on and then turn off immediately with a black screen, I only able to hear the fan in a second then turn off again.. I would like to know how can I revert back the BIOS setting to it's factory setting?
    Thanks in advance

Enter you BIOS, select Exit, and choose Load Default Settings.

Are you sure your power cord is good? If your battery is dead AND you have a bad power cable or bad connection, it will do that. Do you know how to check your a.c. power adapter to make sure it is putting out voltage? You'll need a voltmeter to do it.

I don't know about that, as I remember I accidentally changed some setting on Advanced and Power menu, then everything goes wrong and I can't get the laptop to turn on

    Hi again Baskhara,

Sorry I misread your first post. So I read it again and now I think I understand. You should be able to at least post if your CPU and RAM are recognized (and your mobo is not damaged); however, that appears not to be the case. So, following up on Harpazo's lead, could you try removing the battery and booting on just AC and reverse the process by trying to boot from just the battery (which I assume you have already tried). However, I have to ask you to be completely honest about your activities when I ask "What else were you doing? Anything inside the laptop related to hardware?" Let us know please.

I've tried to boot with just AC and they are the same when I boot it with the battery only, anyway I've added 1 more stick memory to the system to make it 4GB, but everything is just going very well, because today I want to install Ubuntu again on the drive but windows isn't detected by Ubuntu Installer so I reinstall windows again with EFI system and I can install both windows and Ubuntu, after I install all needed driver on windows, I reboot into the BIOS to make it boot into Grub bootloader with legacy support and unfortunately I see more option available like Advanced, Power, Debug, and many more, then I accidentally increase the frequency of the RAM and the changed the graphic into switchable, there's another thing changed but I don't remember, when I save and exit the screen just blank, and the fan turn on then off immediately along with the hard drive every time I press the Power Button. So I guest if I can reset the BIOS will everything goes well again?
Sorry for my bad English ..

The RAM frequency change or the hardware activity are the most likely causes. Here are my suggestions:

You need to do a hard reset of your bios to get it back to defaults. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with your specific model but I'm sure that involves the removal of the backup battery and a jumper setting as well. You will most likely be able to find the backup battery location (and maybe the jumper setting as well) if you download your Hardware Maintenance Manual.

If the above doesn't work, this would be my next suggestions:

Reseat both memory modules (old and new)
Revert to just the original module (for a test)
Make sure you haven't disturbed/nudged your CPU/heatsink when doing the RAM install.

    Hope this information was helpful.

*** If any forum member is familiar with the bios hard reset procedure for this model, please chime in ***

    Good luck,

Okay, first of all I don't know how to do a hard reset of the bios, and I don't know where the backup battery (I think I've seen it but not sure) & jumper location, and also I remember if I changed the aperture size (which I believe it's a dedicated ram) from 256 to 512. I will checkout the hardware maintenance manual first

If you cannot figure out how to do that bios hard rest procedure, and nobody else from this forum responds, your next best step is to either post that question at the Lenovo forums or contact Lenovo support directly. Good luck.
