Mouse pad driver doesn't work - Asus Vivobook

Hi there!
I just got my new Asus Vivobook s400ca running Win8.1, a few weeks ago.
It really runs great, although I managed to find one problem. Since this is a laptop without a detachable screen,
I didn't really find any good reason for having the touch keyboard toolbar ( Capture.PNG) in my task bar, since I was pretty sure I'd never need it. So I disabled the keyboard, which worked out fine but the toolbar was still there.

I then went on to try to remove it by using one of EightForum's .reg files for that purpose.

This did, as described, remove the toolbar, but apparantly it stopped the mouse pad driver as well, even though the mouse pad itself basically works. (no gestures or scrolling though.)

As you can see here, There's no driver running.

And in the ASUS hub, it's also impossible to turn it on. It just keeps saying it's off.

So I decided to use another .reg file that I found with the initial one, that should basically just rollback the effect that the other one had, but to no avail.

It just made the toolbar come back.
So I don't really know where to go from here. Any suggestions?
Also, if there is anyone who knows what to do about that toolbar, please do tell! [:

Thanks in advance! [:
