Disk Managemnet, Cant unshrink my hard drive

I was going to reinstalling windows on my computer and i thought put 200gb for windows 8 and and 1300gb can be for windows 7(for gaming), So i install windows 8 and shrink the hard drive size so windows 8 has 200gb. And use windows 7 for gaming but my pc is a bit s#*t and a dont do gaming any more. (only on the ps3).

So can i unshrink or something so i have 1.5tb together for windows 8?

    Hi xXHALLID4YXx:
You'll have to delete the C: volume then extend the other volume then re-install the OS.

my one concern on why i may not recommend this idea, because you will be creating a spanned volume across the drives and if one drive fails you will have no redundancy. If you do do this you will have to make sure you add it to your consistent backup routine.

He's only got 1 disk though, and apparently no system reserve so he needs to delete/format and start from scratch, then he can shrink forward in the future if necessary.

    No problem, you are welcome.
BTW, actual storage space is slightly less than advertised, retailers count 1000MB as 1GB but it's 1024MB, so if you take 128GB drive you have only 119GB, 256GB drive has 238GB and so on.

I use this tool - it is pretty good. For sure you do not need 200GB for windows. I use 60 and that is more than enough.

Hi all, I have an ASUS vivotab smart running windows 8.1 pro with media centre. The tablet is running it well. One problem I am having is that some packages, such as the samsung smartview for windows 8 does not recognise the hard disk on the tablet or the 64gb sd card I have installed as a local...
Hi there Since we are booting directly into a VHD this topic isn't really about Virtualisation per se -- so whether this post should be moved to Virtualisation --leave that for the Mods. Seems to me that running W8 from a VHD directly (I.E no HOST OS installed) would be really efficient and...
