Hard drive disapears from explorer randomly.

    It doesnt show up every boot... for example, i shut it down last night when i went to bed, i booted up this morning, it wasnt there, i shut it down to install a wireless card, booted up, and its there... also no boot up times are the same as they have always been.

    my guess is faulty circuitboard on the hdd,and I don't care how old it is

    My guess is flaky hard drive also. I'd plug it into a different SATA port as a test though.
