Solved Wireless Mouse Help

I bought Microsoft Sculpt Mobile Wireless Mouse that I'm hoping to use on my new desktop Windows 8.1 PC but under settings in the Charms Bar area there is no bluetooth area to connect to this mouse. Am I out of luck or is there another approach that I can take to get my PC to communicate with this mouse?

In 8.1, Bluetooth is in PC settings -> PC and devices like in step 1 and 2 of Option One in the tutorial below.

In addition, did you install the Mouse and Keyboard Center software for the mouse?

Thanks Shawn, I tried but am not getting anywhere yet. My desktop menu doesn't have blue tooth anywhere in it. So I downloaded and unblocked like you said. It runs and then I click on add a device but it doesn't find anything.

Did you plug in the USB wireless dongle that came with it? If it didn't come with a dongle, does your PC have Bluetooth?

That's what I'm talking about. This is wireless so no dongle and since bluetooth isn't in the list when I go to settings - change PC settings - PC and devices.... So am I just out of luck on this PC? I find it hard to believe that it has dual DVI monitor input and wireless wife but no bluetooth... It is HP s5-1554 PC.

I use Logitech wireless keyboards and trackballs, they all come with a Unifying USB Receiver/Dongle. On some its hidden under the battery cover in a little holder. My desktop PC's didn't come with Wireless or Bluetooth. My laptop has WIFI but no Bluetooth. If you don't have a Bluetooth ICON anywhere then your WIFI adapter likely doesn't support it. You'll need to buy a Bluetooth adapter if the mouse didn't come with one.

Yeah, the motherboard or PC would need to have Bluetooth, or you would need to have a USB Bluetooth adapter.

Here's a list of USB Bluetooth adapters that you could use if the motherboard/PC doesn't have it included. Luckily they're not very expensive at all. Around $15 or so.
