A game called space engineers requires me to have intel HD graphics 4000 minimum. My processor is a 2500. I do not want to buy another processor (I found one for $130 on newegg) just to make it work. I build my computer March of 2013.

current model: i3-3220
Intel Core i3-3220 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz LGA 1155 55W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2500 BX80637i33220 - Newegg.com

possible upgrade (should got this one to start with): i3-3225
Intel Core i3-3225 Ivy Bridge 3.3GHz LGA 1155 55W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I33225 - Newegg.com

I thank you for giving me links to proper graphics cards but I had to get a budget CPU so I can only support PCI 2.0 x16.

I do have an extra EVGA Nvidia geforce 210 with 1gb of ddr3.

All PCI-e cards are compatible with 1,2,3 whatever slot.

Throw your card in there, download the driver from NVIDIA.com and install. :)

Besides, your motherboard does support 3 anyway:

"(The PCI Express x16 slot conforms to PCI Express 3.0 standard.)"

But that is still a little weak for games. To play the game you want to play, you really would benefit from something like I posted, or even something in the 80 dollar range.

According to my Motherboard manual, the Processor runs the pci-e bus and the chipset runs the pci mini and pci bus.

Yes, it's all irrelevant. My motherboard is a 1.1 and I have brand new video card 3.0 working very well in it. Forget the tech stuff. It's all unnecessary.

Plays Crisis 3 while having only a Pentium D, like a dream, to give an example.

Ok, thank you for the tech support. This helped a lot. I will look into graphics cards like what you suggested.
