hi everyone!
i have a big question since i have my birthday coming up in a few days i would like to ask my dad to but some RAM as a gift for me.
the question is i have 4 slots for RAM on my pc and i would like to add 1 gb more. 2 slots have already been used 1gb + 1gb. should i buy 2x 512 mb ram or just buy 1 1gb RAM and put it on? Thanks in advance and expect a reply soon!

Download and run CPU-Z. Look at the Memory tab and SPD tab.
The SPD tab will tell you how your current RAM should be set and its part number that you can Google to find specs like timings and frequency.
The Memory tab shows you how you actual do have the memory set.
I personally would not buy from those links you gave because there is no brand name associated with it and there are not even any specs shown at all.
You really need to match up with what you have already, or get ready for lots of bsods all day every day in all likelihood. (Ram companies do not even support very similar RAM models of their own company, used together.)

Make total abuse of your BDay and ask for four identical 1GB RAM sticks, compatible to your MB that is,every other combination would get you eventually nothing more than trouble.Thats gonna be some happy birthday!

I hope you have a fantastic birthday and everything goes well for you.
Mixing Ram types/ timings / volts etc etc is not advised although as you have already found out your computer will probably work.. you might just find the performances degraded compared to buying a standardised RAM modules across all four bays, also might get some BSODs.
Normally speaking if you bought a different speeds your motherboard would underclock to the slowest speed you have installed.
I would not get paranoid about it though there is only one way you are going to find out... Installing them
Cheers,
Harry
Personally, I'd go with at least a 8 GB. kit. 8.0 GBs. is ideal for games, etc.. Never hurt's to future-proof here and there. A ssd down the road would also be a smart move.
