Hello, I'm CrazyKilla

Ever since I bought this *link* HDD I have never had a faster file transfer than about 80mb/s, and that happens rarely. I'm using the new SATA cables and everthing. Is this normal?

I'm considering on getting this *link* SSHD, would it be much faster than the HDD? Is it worth having multiple pricey SSD's just for the speed?

Check the drive. I see it has jumpers you can set. One of them might be to dictate the speed. Set it so it is 6 Gb/s.

Then, you have two different kinds of ports, 3 Gb/s and 6:

SATAII controller integrated in Intel® X79 chipset
- Up to 3Gb/s transfer speed.
- Supports four SATAII ports (SATA3~6) by X79

SATAIII controller integrated in Intel® X79 chipset
- Up to 6Gb/s transfer speed.
- Supports two SATAIII ports (SATA1~2) by X79

Attach to one of the III ports.

Then, install latest drivers from MSI's site:

MSI Global ? Motherboard - X79A-GD45 (8D)

I'm using the SATA3 ports already and the mobo has been updated 3 days ago.
Where exactly are these jumpers located?
