    Touch Screen Monitor

I have a touch screen monitor on my windows 8 machine.
It works fine but i have this issue.
Every morning when booting PC i have to disconnect the monitor USB cable and reconnect for the touch screen to work.
If i reboot the pc at any point after this it is fine works no problem, it just happens when pc has been left off over night.
In device manager set all usb hubs to not switch off power but can't think of anything else to do.

Check the boot priority in BIOS Setup. Make the hard drive the 1st device. Move any USB selections down in the list.

If you ever need to boot from a USB device, use the one time boot menu key.

You have a USB monitor, what model is it?

It sounds like the driver is not being loaded initially. Have you tried changing USB ports. For a quicker startup, some bioses may disable certain USB ports during boot, so you could check for that.

I think he means the monitor has built-in USB ports.

it is a Hanns G HT231. It connects via usb for the touch to work. It also has HDMI for the video aspect, that is fine it just has this issue on boot up after being switched over night. A restart is fine

    Not USB settings, boot priority/order.

Had a look but don't see the monitor listed under the boot priority/order. so not sure what to look at

Maybe something to do with updates as looking on PC manufacturers website, updates are there for windows 8 but for windows 8.1 it says
Your product is not supported for Windows 8.1

So can i turn the clock back and revert to windows 8?

The only way you can go back to Windows 8 is via a disc image if you created one, Recovery partition on hard drive, Recovery DVDs from the manufacturer. There is no uninstall of 8.1 or roll-back.

Did you try the Windows 8 driver? It should work with 8.1.
