Windows 8 and SSD Hard Drives

Just a thought!, Has anyone had any trouble with "Trim" or any thing else with "Win8" and "SSD's"??

I am useing Windows 7 with "two" ssd hard drives and i would love to try out Windows 8, but not at the cost of my ssd,
as you all know if Trim is not working right, this cause theis Hard Drives to miss up real bad and fale

How are you using those SSd discs? RAID? files and apps? or dual boot?

since you have two discs, and if you havent i would recommend you to use RAID 0 to get more boost and efficency on them. But i think that trimming works fine on w8

Works just fine. I also run two SSDs and as of yet have had no problems. One is running 7 and the other 8 (dual boot).

They are running "Intel 520 using SandForce controller in RAID 0 and it had a top performance, With a 6Gb/s interface and being 240GB, it had speeds of 550 MB/s read and 520Mb/s write with a maximum 80,000 low 4k random write IOPS for a single drive.
Maybe some day i'll make enough money to own one!

Guys, do yourselves a favor and obstain from Raid0 for SSDs. It buys you absolutely nothing for the OS performance because the OS does few R/W operations and those only for 4K blocks. All those fantastic data transfer numbers are just meaningless for the OS.

That is different when you use the SSD Raid0 to move a lot of large block data around. There is may make some sense.

Yep. Bench numbers are impressive, but real world usage nets you no discernible improvement.
