Solved New hard drive

Had to buy a new harddrive so i put it into laptop and nothing is firing up. I have power lights on and power for battery but it wont start up so i can press f12 to install windows again. I can here the fan working inside laptop..i have no windows installed on lappy as i wipe it before my harddrive died on me last week.. Anyone no why this is happening?

Are you seeing anything on the screen at all?

If not, check your laptop manual or website for troubleshooting procedures. You can probably hold down a key while powering on, and it will give you beep codes. You can then look up what the meaning is.

Honestly, you really need to fill in your system specs completely, especially when looking for hardware help as in this case.

An actual link to the hard drive you purchased would be very helpful, too.
