Ever since I upgraded to Windows 8.1 (the day it came out) iv had this random drive listed in the disk optimizer thing. I just let it go but i'm pretty sure there's a way to remove it lol. Here's a pic of what it looks like: http://gyazo.com/f9bd6e42e231ea435365184dc5023ee7.png

The problem is the last partition has a drive letter & incorrect partition ID.

diskpart
List disk
select disk 0
list partition
select partition # (the last partition)

set id="de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac"

Relook at your screenshots, in first one there is two 19.79 partitions, now only one 19.79 partition.

I know, but the random drive still appears in the disk optimizer, like this:

Could it be that the drive is a dedicated SSD cache drive run by expresscache.exe? My new Desktop HP Pavilion 500-075 has a separate Sandisk 16G SSD cache drive and it shows up in disk optimizer exactly the same as your screen shot. On my PC it is always 22% fragmented but the system is not supposed to defragment SSD's but run trim commands.

That might be the case, well since it seems harmless I guess I can just leave it. Thanks for the tip, I think my drive might have the ssd cache but i'm not sure haha, I recently had my OS on it's own ssd but that randomly stopped working, maybe when I did a fresh install it made that somehow. :p
