HDD mess, please help!

I have a Z68 motherboard and have Windows 8.1 x64 installed on ACHI mode on an SSD.

Now, I did the following:

Changed in BIOS ACHI to RAID.
Installed 2 4TB HDDs and configured them to RAID 1 via the Intel utility.

Now, when I try to boot my PC from the SSD I get: "select a proper boot devide"

The following are true:
All the HDDs are correctly installed and cables are OK.
Even when I tried changing RAID back to ACHI the SSD didn't boot.

You might want to consult your mobo manual for the correct setup of RAID with mixing HDD's and a SSD. I know that some older mobo's don't allow this.

Switching from AHCI to RAID and RIAD to AHCI requires a new OS install.

Let's make this simpler and forget and the HDDs.

After removing ALL the HDDs expert the SSD, my system still doesn't boot!
I switched from RAID to ACHI but still nothing?!

Is there a way to do this without installing the OS again?

My motherboard is ASUS P8Z68-V PRO

As your motherboard has a UEFI/BIOS firmware, try resetting the first boot device to Windows Boot Manager.
