Lock Screen Forces Unwanted Sleep of Device

Hi,

I'm using a Dell Venue 8 Pro, my first Windows 8.1 device.

The issue: Locking the device brings up the Lock screen, and after a configurable time (I have the "Console lock display off timeout" enabled and configured to 10 minutes for testing purposes) the screen turns off, BUT the device also goes to sleep. The issue is that I do not want the tablet to go to sleep but only the screen to turn off, so that if I'm listening to music and choose to lock it, the screen will still turn off after "x" minutes, but the music will continue to play.

I've done extensive searching but haven't found anyone who can point to me an entry in the kernel or registry that can allow these features to be disconnected.

I realize this may not be just Windows 8 specific but may be device specific, but wanted to see if anyone had any knowledge regarding the issue.

Thank you.

No answer for you I'm afraid - except to bump the question and say that I too am finding this extremely irritating. I use the device as a thin client into a set of remote systems which are behind layers of multi-factor auth & each time I lock the screen the connection drops and I need to log in to everything again!
